Phoenix, AZ. – Latino community leader Tommy Espinoza, Raza Development Fund President & CEO, received the “NFL Fútbol Americano Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award 2014” from local entrepreneur Michael Bidwell, owner of the Arizona Cardinals. The event took place on Sunday the 21st, at the University of Phoenix Stadium, during the half time of the game between the Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers.
Within a very Mexican ambiance with mariachi bands and Mexican folkloric dancers, Michael Bidwell gave Tommy Espinoza the Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. Bidwell said that his organization and the NFL were honoring Espinoza’s contributions, passion and dedication to the Latino Community. As part of the award, Espinoza received a 2,000 dollars check for his favorite charity –San Juan Diego Institute.
Espinoza commented he was “very honored and humble”, and he accepted the award “on behalf of my family and my community”.
Tommy Espinoza gave Michael Bidwell an image of the Virgin of Guadalupe “to protect our team and to help them win”.
